Septic System Inspection
Comprehensive evaluation of septic tanks, distribution boxes, and drain field systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
Why Choose Our Septic System Inspection?
At DNH Property Inspections, we offer septic system performance inspections designed to evaluate the visible and functional condition of both conventional and aerobic systems. These are non-invasive inspections—no components are unearthed—and the goal is to assess whether the system shows any signs of improper operation or failure at the time of inspection.
For conventional systems, we locate the septic tanks using probe rods when accessible and inspect the surrounding area for visible signs of malfunction. This includes checking for standing surface water, septic odors, or excessive vegetation around the tanks or drain field, which may indicate improper drainage or system overload.
For aerobic systems, we evaluate key components such as the spray heads, control panel alarms, and the sanitation device (chlorinator or UV system). We check whether the alarm system is operational and note any visible leaks, oversaturation, or damage to spray zones.
While we do not excavate or open the tanks, our inspection can reveal important indicators of system health and guide next steps. We recommend clients obtain any available permit documentation, service records, and follow appropriate maintenance schedules for long-term system performance.
This inspection does not guarantee future operation and is not a substitute for a full evaluation by a licensed septic contractor. It provides a snapshot of current conditions based on what is visible and accessible at the time of the inspection.
